Testing the Blog

Dr. Koory wants to help former students continue the conversation regarding all related to the mystery novel.  I want to join this group, too, as I'm already feeling the need to discuss my latest finds and reads!  Will a simple blog serve this purpose?

I'm intrigued by the differences between a blog and a "group page," as you've briefly summarized them, Karen.

A blog seems more like a one-way publishing opportunity, an essay with large margins for readers' annotations, and a group page much more like a Message Board, where an interested group (small) keeps the conversation going -- a dinner table, maybe, at the stage of passing around port and cigars?

Perhaps something along the lines of The Symposium at its most ideal, only not in ancient Greek?

Although I have many ideas, I rarely know what is actually possible in the real world. After reading more about group pages and visiting some, I'm now thinking perhaps group pages may serve both the teacher and former students better than a blog.

So am I to think of myself as a modern-day Greek thinker - MaryAnn as Plato, me as Aristotle?
